Information You Submit
A name or location entered into an embedded search tool is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our own systems. The provider’s privacy terms apply to its handling of the query.
If you email us or use a contact form, we retain the message and related address as needed to respond. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.
Technical Data Collected Automatically
Ordinary server, analytics, and security systems may record technical details when a page loads, including:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser type and version;
- device category and operating system;
- pages visited and time spent on them;
- the referring website, when available; and
- request dates and timestamps.
Cookies help measure how people use the site and may support advertising functions. You can block or delete cookies through browser controls, although doing so may change how some features work.
How Information Is Used
- Operate the site and maintain reasonable speed.
- Send a search request to the selected partner service.
- Understand which guides visitors find useful.
- Diagnose errors, abuse, and other technical problems.
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests.
Outside Websites and Advertising
Links may lead to JailTracker, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky Department of Corrections, courts, other government portals, and outside search tools. Kentucky’s Open Records Act, KRS 61.870 through 61.884, governs access to qualifying public-agency records, but each destination’s own privacy policy controls data collected after you leave this private site.
Advertising companies may use their own cookies or similar technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That tracking occurs on their systems under their terms, not in a Jackson County government system.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be handled by:
- search partners processing a query;
- analytics vendors measuring site use;
- advertising networks delivering or measuring ads; and
- law-enforcement or government bodies when a valid subpoena, court order, or other lawful demand requires disclosure.
Security Has Limits
We use standard, reasonable safeguards for the information under our control. No website, network, or storage system is completely secure, however, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and our ability to verify a request, you may:
- ask for a copy of personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate personal data;
- ask that qualifying personal data be erased; or
- object to or opt out of certain processing.
These choices concern data controlled by this site. Requests about a sheriff, court, jail, or search partner record must go to that record owner.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this notice as site practices or legal duties change. A revised version takes effect when posted here with its new effective date.
